Arguably if you are planning to have a destination wedding, wedding at Udaipur and Jaipur will already be on top of your list. And surely even before you seriously start exploring all the options. I can easily put Leela Kovalam in Kerala as the top five destination where you should be getting married in India. The property is on the beach little up the small hill or rather cliff. It gives a clear view to the blue sea. Beach wedding or on-location wedding are recommended depending upon the your taste and style of wedding. Neetu Sajnani from Dubai, had planned her wedding and pre-wedding events in Leela Kovalam. The wedding was planned in the garden and reception on the beach with beautiful setup for a perfect evening. She was clear about the style of photography she wanted for her wedding. She did not hesitate to share any details which would help me visualize her dream wedding.
I still remember she shared the story on how she shortlisted two destination wedding photographers who were close to the style she wanted. It was a toss or confusion between Canada based Andrew Adams and me. Thanks to the veto from her friends that finally helped Neetu to finalize. And hence inviting me for the wedding. Andrew, a wonderful artist, who I still admire like many other photographers. I felt really humbled and honored to be shortlisted along with him by the couple. Neetu and Abhishek had been friends with each from last 15 years. They soon realized that the friendship had some special feelings for each other. Neetu’s had carefully planned and detailed out everything with her wedding planner. Right from decor to dresses to theme of each event. Dresses from Neeta Lulla, jewelry from Ghana Singh and shoes from Gina were lovely. Her makeup was done by Pooja Dhanak from Dubai. All well suited for each event.
We chalked out the plan for the couple shoot right on the first day. I had quick look at the property after my meeting with Abishek and Neetu. I decided to have a morning casual engagement session with mix of beach shots, local flavor and small picnic. Picnic was a fun with some morning coffee and muffins for empty stomachs. Both of them responded to the planning with a enthusiasm and romance 🙂 The idea of few shots in the infinity pool at the end of session was surprising, exciting and relaxing for them. Yes it was the part of the plan which I revealed at the last minute 🙂
